cleancode

At a glance

cleancode is a desktop canvas for arranging coding-agent CLIs, terminals and Git branch workspaces. You bring installed, authenticated agents such as Claude Code or Codex CLI. Workflow dependencies decide which task can start after another finishes.

Good fit

Worth a look if managing several terminal sessions and branch-specific tasks has become the awkward part of agent-assisted work. The canvas makes dependencies visible, while separate Git worktrees can keep branch edits apart. That is a useful organizational role for someone who already has an editor and agent setup.

Consider something else when

You want a complete IDE or automatic collaboration between agents. There is no file tree or code editor, and merge/conflict work remains in other tools. Workflow ordering does not automatically pass standard output, files or structured results between nodes; your scripts and shared files must handle the handoff.

Start here

After choosing a supported desktop build, add a local Git project, create a branch workspace and launch one already-authenticated CLI. Confirm an ordinary command works before adding dependent workflow nodes. Work out the file or script handoff explicitly. The current preview is unsigned; evaluate its distribution before installing it.

Cost and requirements

MIT-licensed preview with macOS universal, Windows x64 and Linux x64 packages documented. Agent subscriptions or API use remain separate. Building from source needs Node 24 or newer and pnpm 10 or newer; packaged users have different installation requirements. The preview is not notarized on macOS.

Limits to know

Active workflows do not resume after restarting the app, and agent/workflow terminals do not gain the optional persistence available to ordinary terminals. Its MCP interface can construct and inspect workflow plans, but cannot start, query or stop running workflows. A Git worktree separates edits; it is not a security sandbox for an agent.
