Context

Sierra combined its departmental AI assistants because employees' requests often crossed departmental boundaries. In Neil Rahilly's account of the rollout, one internal assistant now works across company systems, so employees need not decide which specialist to approach.

The assistant also updates the actual work product, such as a presentation, while existing business systems retain their records. This gives employees a common way to request work without creating a second copy of company information inside a chat tool.
