Proof of Donation is a self-hosted server that replaces CAPTCHAs by having new users donate to a charity and upload the email receipt instead of solving a puzzle, verifying the receipt's authenticity through its DKIM email signature and returning a pass or no-pass result to gate signups. The project is new and not yet used in production.
Why it made the leaderboard
ProofOfDonation gives developers an alternative to CAPTCHA that gates signups on a verified charity donation instead of a puzzle, using DKIM signatures to check receipt authenticity server-side.
