About
editmd is a native macOS editor that shows a markdown file as rendered text you can edit in place, then saves it back as markdown. When an agent or another program edits the open file, it merges those changes with unsaved edits using a Y.js CRDT, so the user is not shown a file-changed dialog and undo affects only their own edits. It also renders GitHub flavoured markdown and mermaid diagrams, and preserves file encoding, line endings and front matter.
Why it made the leaderboard
Agents can edit a markdown file while you have it open and their changes merge in without clobbering your unsaved edits or a conflict dialog. Cmd-Z only undoes your own changes.
