Stenvakt is a Mac app that connects to Linux servers over SSH to review, watch, patch and harden them. It applies updates in a set order (checks, updates, firewall and SSH changes, then reboot). With safe mode on, the server arms its own rollback timer before a firewall or SSH change, so a change that locks you out is undone on the server. It needs macOS 14 or newer on Apple silicon and was tested on Ubuntu and Debian.
Why it made the leaderboard
Patches and hardens multiple VPSes over SSH from a Mac, and auto-rolls back risky firewall or SSH changes with a server-side timer so you cannot lock yourself out.
