D-Engine is a deterministic harness for LLM code edits. The model proposes SEARCH/REPLACE blocks, a local runtime applies them in a shadow git worktree, and the result merges only if tsc --noEmit passes. This replaces a multi-turn agent loop with one prompt, one patch set and one gate for bounded edits, which reduces token use because each turn no longer re-sends the full trajectory.
