We are releasing cf, our new command-line tool that mirrors the entire Cloudflare API and supports programmatic TypeScript configuration. We are also open-sourcing Forge, our internal SDK generator. https://t.co/WxjMkPWJVx #BirthdayWeek
Context
Cloudflare released cf, a new command-line tool that covers its entire API, more than 3,000 operations, compared with roughly 280 commands in Wrangler, the company's existing developer CLI. cf defaults to JSON output, accepts a TypeScript configuration file instead of Wrangler's TOML/JSONC format, and adds a natural-language search command so an can find the right operation without already knowing its exact name.
Cloudflare says agent usage of Wrangler rose from about a quarter of its traffic in March 2026 to 48% by the week of this launch, and that agents use nearly twice as many distinct commands per day and are four times more likely to chain six or more commands together than human users do. cf was itself generated from Cloudflare's API definitions using Forge, the internal SDK generator the company open-sourced the same day, which is why the two releases share a launch window.
