About
Explore activity, engagement, posting patterns, rankings, and related communities across more than 100,000 subreddits using monthly statistics computed from public Reddit posts.
At a glance
SubTrends turns public Reddit posts into monthly community dashboards showing posting volume, engagement and related communities. It is worth a look when deciding which communities to read or research: the free report puts those signals together without a Reddit login. Check the snapshot date first. This is a retrospective view of available posts, so it cannot tell you what is happening in a community right now.
Good fit
Writers, community researchers and curious readers comparing the character of subreddits before spending time in them. A busy community and a responsive one are different things: posts per day describes volume, while comments and low-reply rate help reveal how often a post attracts discussion. Keywords, post flairs and linked examples give those averages context. Related-community reports provide leads to investigate rather than proof that an audience will welcome a particular post.
Consider something else when
You need live monitoring, individual-user targeting, or a guaranteed best hour to publish. The activity heatmap counts posting activity, not the chance that your own post will succeed. More posts in an hour also mean more competition for attention. Coverage can vary by community and month, so treat the figures as a starting point and read the community’s actual posts and rules before drawing a conclusion.
Start here
Search for a familiar subreddit and open its report. Check the month, then compare posts per day with comments and low-reply rate before exploring flairs or related communities. In the public trial, searching python opened r/Python’s September 2026 dashboard, which displayed fourteen posts per day and a 73% low-reply rate. The report defines low-reply posts as those with zero or one comment. Those are displayed historical figures, not an independent recount of Reddit.
Cost and requirements
Checked on 31 October 2026, free access included the latest published month, top 100 rankings per category and community comparisons. Pro displayed US$12/month or US$120 billed annually, equivalent to US$10/month, before applicable taxes. It adds history, full rankings and monthly CSV exports. Accounts are required for bookmarks, export and paid features. Subscriptions renew automatically; cancellation retains access through the paid period. The service says new monthly data can take up to about a month to appear.
Limits to know
The search-to-dashboard workflow and billing controls were tried without an account. Historical comparisons, CSV files and paid access were not tested. The privacy policy describes aggregate usage analytics and server-stored account/bookmark data, with unsigned-in preferences kept in browser storage. Export is for taking analysis out of the interface, not unrestricted redistribution: the terms permit internal research/reporting but prohibit automated harvesting and bulk resale or redistribution.
