Context

Nous Research said Hermes 's built-in Connectors Catalog now offers 44 new connections to everyday apps, with one-click setup in the Hermes Desktop App. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for an AI agent to reach outside tools. The post counts additions, not the catalog's total size. The original announcement gives no further detail.

Separately, Hermes' documentation describes an opt-in feature called Tool Search. It applies to eligible MCP and non-core plugin tools: instead of loading every tool's full definition up front, the agent searches for a tool and loads its definition when needed. Core tools such as the terminal and file reader normally load directly. The announcement does not say whether the new connections use Tool Search. Connecting an app account still requires the user's authorization.
