pio is a Go package that emulates the RP2040 programmable IO hardware, including all state machines in both PIO blocks. It can connect multiple emulated RP2040s electrically, simulates pull-ups, pull-downs and overrides, and reports errors in likely unintended cases. It can run inside test suites, which helps with protocols whose PIO programs are hard to debug on real hardware.
