BookPress

About

BookPress is a from-scratch WordPress core written in C and C++, intended to cut infrastructure use by about half while improving speed. It includes an embeddable PHP runtime covering most Zend PHP features, and a live demo shows WooCommerce and Elementor working. The author says it implements the WordPress API faithfully so plugins and themes need no special handling, and it is meant to run alongside a PHP install with single-command migrate and un-migrate.
