Knecht is a self-hostable tool that connects to GitHub repositories and boots each project inside an isolated Docker sandbox generated with DDEV, letting an AI agent reproduce bugs, run migrations, and open pages in a browser instead of only reading and writing code. Workflows can be triggered by Jira tickets, GitHub issues, or pull requests, and can mix AI agent steps with deterministic steps across many projects at once, similar to n8n.
Why it made the leaderboard
Lets a coding agent verify its own changes by actually running the app (migrations, browser checks) in an isolated sandbox per project, closing a real gap in agents that only read and write code.
