Last August, we previewed Genie 3: a general-purpose world model that turns a single text prompt into a dynamic, interactive environment. Since then, trusted testers have taken it further than we ever imagined — experimenting, exploring, and pioneering entirely new interactive worlds. Now, it’s your turn. Starting today, we're rolling out access to Project Genie for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. (18+). We know what you create will be out of this world 🚀

You might be wondering... How does Project Genie work?🤔 Great question. Project Genie is a prototype web app powered by several of our most advanced AI models, each bringing a unique capability to the equation. From Genie 3's ability to simulate the physics and interactions of any scenario, to Nano Banana's sketching and design, to Gemini's advanced world knowledge and reasoning, this combination results in Project Genie's unique, interactive, (and really cool) user experience. But don't just take our word for it, try it today at:

Context

Project Genie lets users explore an AI-generated environment that changes as they move. Google DeepMind explains that users first create a world by prompting with text and generated or uploaded images, then Project Genie generates the path ahead in real time based on their actions. The January 29 launch opened the experimental web app to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US aged 18 and over.

The launch version limited generations to 60 seconds, and the article warns that worlds may not look true-to-life or follow prompts, images or real-world physics. Its useful capability was therefore short, interactive world exploration, with those limits built into the prototype's documented scope.
