About

mcp-router is a Rust MCP server that sits in front of many MCP servers and gives Claude Code three tools: find_tools, call_tool and run_script. Servers start only when first used, and JSON results are trimmed to keep them inline. In the author's benchmark of six other proxies on a synthetic 441-tool fleet, it cut tokens 13 to 44 percent and completed every task, while four others used more tokens than no proxy.
