About
The community-vote leaderboard formerly known as Chatbot Arena and LMArena, operated by Arena Intelligence. People compare two anonymous model responses side by side and vote, and those votes rank models across separate arenas for text, agents, vision, documents, web development, search, and image and video generation and editing. It publishes its human-preference datasets on HuggingFace, and its original method was described in an ICML 2024 paper.
Why it made the leaderboard
It ranks models on blind pairwise human preference rather than a scored task set, which catches the things execution-graded benchmarks cannot — tone, formatting, and whether the answer is what a person actually wanted. Separate arenas cover text, agents, vision, web development and video, and the preference data is published openly.
