Context
World Labs argues in an essay, 3D as code, that generated 3D scenes should serve as editable source material for people and software. Its comparison with code is concrete: a scene can be inspected, changed and passed into existing rendering or simulation tools, allowing people to revise the underlying world instead of regenerating every visible result.
The proposed division of work gives learned models responsibility for generating or interpreting structure, while other software manages state and rules. For designers, that could make a generated environment something they can refine and reuse across tools. This is an architectural argument about controllability and interoperability by a company building such tools, rather than a measured claim that every generated scene behaves correctly.
