Senior Dev: This "Grill Me" Prompt Is Going Viral Among Top Engineers

The Grill Me prompt asks an AI to interview its user until they reach a shared understanding of the task. Software educator Matt Pocock describes using it to question assumptions on both sides before settling on a design.

Its useful function is to draw out decisions missing from the initial request. Pocock says the same technique applies to documents and other work beyond programming. The reusable part is the questioning process: the user supplies intentions and constraints while the assistant tests whether it has understood them.
