Hop is a project session manager that extends the idea of a tmux session to the whole window-manager level, grouping terminals and GUI apps like browser windows into one project workspace instead of just terminal panes. It also supports running shells and editors locally, in a container, or over SSH, addressing tmux's difficulty managing sessions across different sandboxed environments.
Why it made the leaderboard
Solves a workflow problem tmux can't: keeping browser tabs and terminals together as a single project session, and managing that session across sandboxes instead of one tmux server per machine.
