About
Kern is an autonomous agent framework that runs on the user's own machine, uses real tools, and keeps one persistent 'brain' across every channel it's connected to, including terminal, browser, Telegram, Slack, Matrix, and Nostr. Conversations are segmented by topic, summarized into a hierarchy, and compressed into context so memory compounds over time, and agents can build and serve their own live dashboards showing what they're doing.
Why it made the leaderboard
A single agent brain that persists memory across every channel you talk to it through, and can build its own UI on the fly, is a genuinely different take on agent deployment for developers running self-hosted assistants.
