About
Bot and fraud-protection platform with server/CDN integrations, browser signals and mobile SDKs. Request signals inform allow or challenge decisions. Its hosted MCP offering queries Trend Reports; protecting customers’ MCP endpoints is a separate capability.
At a glance
DataDome is worth evaluating when automated abuse is causing a measurable business problem and a team can operate the protection. Its integrations send request signals to a bot-detection service and enforce decisions such as allowing or challenging traffic. The tradeoff is consequential: stopping unwanted automation must not stop legitimate customers or useful agents. This is an operational security purchase, with enterprise-scale pricing and integration work, rather than a simple badge to add to a website.
Good fit
Businesses dealing with scraping, automated account abuse or unwanted purchasing traffic across websites and APIs. Existing server, CDN and gateway integrations can avoid writing the entire enforcement path yourself. Browser signals and challenges use a client-side JavaScript tag; mobile integrations have their own SDKs. Agentic Trust distinguishes agent identity, confidence and behavior so an operator can set access policies. Those are documented mechanisms and vendor capabilities, not independently verified detection results.
Consider something else when
You have a small site without quantified bot harm, lack an owner for false positives, or expect every automated request to be malicious. A challenge that interrupts a legitimate purchase can undermine the reason for adopting the product. Identify which users, crawlers, partners and agents must retain access before evaluating it. DataDome’s hosted MCP offering queries Trend Reports for analysts; it is different from protecting your own MCP endpoints, and its public description does not establish that an agent can change mitigation rules.
Start here
Define one affected endpoint and a business outcome, such as fewer abusive login attempts without a lower legitimate completion rate. With the appropriate account and integration, inspect detected traffic and rule responses before enabling enforcement broadly, then check ordinary browser and API client paths. Documentation distinguishes detection from protection: logs can show the action that would have been applied while protection is disabled. Confirm that your plan includes the logs you need. This is a proposed evaluation sequence; no customer dashboard, deployment, traffic probe or protection change was performed.
Cost and requirements
On 31 October 2026, public USD pricing lists Essentials at $3,830 per month, Advanced at $8,670, Premium at $10,160 and Enterprise starting at $13,270. Confirm traffic volume, contract terms and features in the actual quote. The custom Protection API is documented for Premium and Enterprise, rather than every plan. Its backend integration needs synchronous HTTPS requests, timeout handling and enforcement of response headers. Current pricing names also differ from older log-enrichment documentation, so do not assume a published feature belongs to your quoted tier.
Limits to know
Request metadata, including IP and header information, is sent to DataDome; the browser tag collects additional signals and manages challenges. Keep the server-side key private even though the client-side key is public. Custom API integration requires fail-open behavior for continuity, which can let traffic through when a valid decision is unavailable. That needs an operational decision, not a claim of uninterrupted blocking. Detection accuracy, false positives, latency, outage behavior, privacy implementation and hosted MCP permissions were not tested. A reported bot score or vendor availability promise is not an independent assurance.
Still unclear
- What traffic allowance, log-enrichment access and Trend Reports MCP entitlement are included in the actual quoted plan?

Why it made the leaderboard
Worth evaluating when quantified automated abuse can justify substantial subscription and operational costs. Legitimate-user completion, false positives, plan entitlements and failure behavior need explicit evaluation.
