Hermes now leverages NVIDIA's SkillEvaluator on skill installs, checking for PII, leaked secrets, Unicode smuggling, licensing and security issues before you confirm. We pointed it at our own bundled skills first, and used what it found to improve 11 of them. https://t.co/7l1cSz9UlM

Context
Nous Research says Hermes now checks incoming skills before the user confirms installation, using NVIDIA's SkillEvaluator. The checks look for exposed personal information, leaked secrets, licensing problems and suspicious content such as hidden Unicode characters. Nous says it used the findings to improve 11 bundled skills in its own collection. The announcement places the review at the point where users decide whether to accept new instructions.
The technical account describes Hermes' scan as optional and advisory. The broader evaluation framework separately tests whether skills improve agent performance.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
- eval — A repeatable test for AI quality — a set of tasks plus scoring — used the way software teams use test suites, because model output is too variable to judge by eyeballing.
- agent skill — A reusable instruction file that teaches an agent how to do one job well — the procedure, the tools, and what counts as done.
