About

Ready Player One - framework for structured agent steering and orchestration.

What it does

The repository does not yet explain an operational tool, user workflow, or working implementation. Its documentation is still a project setup template with placeholders for future authors.

Why it's ranked here

The available material cannot support adopting RP1 as working software. It provides governance and licensing foundations, but no source code, installation instructions, usage examples, or defined interface.

What's good

The project has an Apache 2.0 license, an assigned default code owner, dependency update configuration, governance guidance, and prepared issue reporting infrastructure.

Tradeoffs

The documentation leaves the introduction unfinished and exposes template placeholders. Nothing supplied establishes behavior, supported platforms, dependencies, packaging, tests, commands, library interfaces, or operational maturity.

How to use it well

It currently suits contributors preparing an open source project foundation. It does not yet earn a place in an agent workflow or cover an implementation, installable package, API, or command-line tool.

Technical notes+

README.md remains the seeded project template and explicitly asks leads to add the big picture, behavior, diagrams, and usage snippets. CODEOWNERS assigns all files to @cloud-on-prem. renovate.json extends Renovate's recommended configuration and pins GitHub Action digests. .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/bug-report.md and .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/config.yml retain customization placeholders. LICENSE contains the full Apache License 2.0 text and identifies Block, Inc. as copyright holder. GOVERNANCE.md links to Block's central open source governance document. No supplied file defines source code, build metadata, package metadata, tests, CLI commands, APIs, or MCP interfaces.
