Bailout is a small coding agent meant to bootstrap a machine when your usual agent tooling isn't set up or has broken, such as a fresh VM with no GitHub CLI, config, or API keys, or an existing agent like Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode that stopped launching. It installs via a one-line curl script with no account or API key required, helps configure or repair the real tools without exposing typed credentials to the model, and is designed to be removed once it has done its job.
Why it made the leaderboard
Solves the bootstrap problem of fixing a broken agent CLI when the agent itself is what's broken, without requiring any API keys or accounts.
