About
Installed SSH and SFTP client for organizing hosts, credentials and terminal workspaces across desktop and mobile. Starter provides a local vault; paid subscriptions add personal sync and team sharing. This source-based assessment did not install the app or test a connection.
At a glance
Termius is worth evaluating when managing saved connections across machines and devices takes more effort than the terminal work itself. It is an installed SSH client that organizes hosts, credentials, file transfers and reusable commands in one place. The free plan supplies a local vault; paid plans add cloud synchronization and shared infrastructure access. That organization is its strongest case over an occasional SSH command, rather than a reason to replace every existing terminal.
Good fit
People who repeatedly connect to several servers, switch between desktop and mobile, or maintain a shared host inventory. Groups can inherit credentials, ports and jump-host settings, so one change can apply to related machines. A keychain item can serve several hosts without copying its contents into each entry. Workspaces collect terminal sessions, and SFTP handles remote file browsing and transfer. These are documented capabilities; this review did not install the app or connect to a server.
Consider something else when
You only need occasional connections from one machine, prefer an existing text-based SSH setup, or cannot place encrypted infrastructure credentials in a vendor cloud. Starter may cover a local-client job without paying for synchronization. For scripted operations, investigate the actual interface you require: the vendor’s separate termius-cli repository is archived, so it is not evidence of a maintained automation path for the current desktop product.
Start here
The documented setup installs the app, asks for sign-in or account creation, and starts a Pro trial. It says the trial does not charge automatically and describes local use after logging out. Start an evaluation with a host you control: choose New Host, supply its address, port, username and authentication details, then Connect. A successful first result is a terminal session on that host; next check whether the saved host and SFTP view improve your routine. Keep the encryption password recoverable: resetting an account without it does not recover the old encrypted vault.
Cost and requirements
The 31 October 2026 pricing page lists Starter free for commercial use, Pro at US$10 per month, Team at US$20 per seat per month and Business at US$30 per seat per month, with those paid rates billed annually. Enterprise is custom. Pro adds personal sync; Team adds one shared vault, and Business adds multiple vaults and finer access control. Billing documentation sets a two-seat minimum for Team and Business and also offers monthly billing. Those monthly rates and app-store prices were not checked. Published clients cover macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android; you still need a reachable server and valid access.
Limits to know
Termius documents client-side vault encryption and synchronization of encrypted keys through its cloud. That is the vendor’s design description, not an independent security assessment or a claim that all account and usage data stays local. Autocomplete uses extra SSH exec channels and can cause disconnects on restricted servers; the documented workaround is to turn it off. AI command generation requires an account, and its model-provider and context-retention details were not established here. When Pro expires, new changes remain local rather than syncing. Account deletion has a documented 30-day restoration window. Neither a complete vault export nor connection reliability was tested.
Still unclear
- What complete export path does the current app provide for hosts, credentials and shared vaults, and what information does AI command generation send to its model provider?

Why it made the leaderboard
Worth evaluating when repeated connection setup and shared host inventories justify a dedicated client. Its paid value is synchronization and collaboration; encrypted cloud vaults still require understanding password recovery, data handling and plan limits.
