About

Programming Museum is a website that displays real, runnable source code files as if they were art in a museum, organized into rooms like a Hall of First Words (hello-world programs from COBOL to Brainfuck), a Gallery of Patterns, and a Hall of the Commons for files borrowed from open-source projects under MIT or Unlicense terms. It also offers free lectures on the ideas behind the code and a children's playground of working code models.

Why it made the leaderboard

Programming Museum presents real, runnable code (hello-worlds, classic patterns, algorithms, borrowed open-source fragments) as curated exhibits with explanatory notes, tours and lectures, a genuinely novel way to encounter programming history.
