PaperMono Shopping List is firmware for the M5Stack PaperMono (an ESP32-S3 board with an e-ink touchscreen) that turns it into a fridge-magnet shopping list, syncing over Wi-Fi with a companion mobile web page and continuing to work offline. It is roughly 2,400 lines of C++ and was written entirely through Claude Code as an experiment in using AI to build firmware for a new hardware device.
