About
Yass is a minimal YAML-based spec format that uses RFC2119 keywords (MUST, SHOULD, MAY, etc.) to steer AI model behavior, relying on models' trained-in understanding of those keywords instead of long prose instructions. Its author reports validating it through hundreds of experiments across models and platforms, including reproducing byte-exact CLI implementations in seven different languages from a single Yass spec tree using Claude Opus 4.6 inside sandboxed Claude Code harnesses.
