Claude Code can design now. The new /design skill (research preview) brings Claude Design's artboard workflow into the CLI and Desktop, built on artifacts. Run /design to get editable artboards for your UI — pick one, tweak it, then have Claude implement it.

Context

Anthropic's Claude Code design preview adds a visual decision step before implementation. The /design generates editable artboards in the command-line and desktop workflows, letting users choose a direction and refine it before asking the to build it. The announcement and screenshot show this selection-and-editing process.

Announced as a research preview, the workflow gives a user a concrete interface proposal to react to before choosing what gets implemented.
