PHP-fts is a pure-PHP full-text search library; version 2.0 rewrites the index and query planner to add word-based tokenization across 26 writing systems, using Unicode case-folding rules generated from Unicode's own data rather than hand-written tables, with n-gram indexing for continuously-written scripts like Han and Hiragana. The new segment format is incompatible with 1.x indexes and requires a full reindex.
