Type PAL is a from-scratch TypeScript rewrite of the 1995 RPG The Legend of Sword and Fairy (Chinese Paladin) that runs in the browser. Phase 1 can be played through to the ending, with a bytecode interpreter, turn-based battles and extraction of data from the original archives. Phase 2, still in development, adds a new runtime and a React visual editor. It is an unofficial fan project, and the live demo's game text is Chinese.
Why it made the leaderboard
A complete browser-playable TypeScript recreation of a classic RPG, with a bytecode interpreter and a visual map and script editor.
