We are expanding the Clef decision model family with Clef-omni, natively processing audio, video, images, and text in a single pipeline. We’ve also lowered Clef-flash pricing and boosted Clef inference speeds by up to 2.0x. https://t.co/UKDp0OKHHA
Context
Cloudflare's Clef-omni extends the Clef family of decision models, which follows the previous week's Clef and Clef-flash releases, by accepting audio and video files alongside text and images. The company's technical announcement explains that an application can ask one model questions about these inputs without first building separate speech-transcription and video-processing pipelines.
Its installation-inspection example asks whether a fan is running in a video and whether accompanying audio sounds normal. This illustrates the intended use: making decisions from several kinds of evidence supplied together. It is an input-processing capability, not a reported accuracy result for equipment inspection.
- multimodal — A model that works with more than text — reading images, audio, or video, and sometimes generating them too.
- inference — Running a trained model to get answers — the phase where AI is actually used, as opposed to trained.
