kube-upgrade-check is an open-source kubectl plugin that scans a cluster from your kubeconfig and reports what a Kubernetes upgrade to a given version would break. It checks removed APIs in use, control-plane and kubelet settings the target refuses, in-tree volume plugins, node runtime skew and add-on compatibility. It reads the cluster without writing to it and can fail CI on a severity threshold.
