About
macvoice is a local voice agent loop for Apple Silicon Macs that uses Silero VAD, Smart Turn, Parakeet speech recognition on MLX and Phonon speech synthesis, with no PyTorch. The README reports a 1.4 GB footprint and speech starting about 350 ms after you stop talking, before LLM time. You connect any OpenAI-compatible LLM server or a coding agent over ACP, and built-in echo cancellation lets you interrupt the reply.
