ESP-Watchtower is firmware for an ESP8266 board that watches a home network around the clock. It tests the router and the internet separately to show whether Wi-Fi or the provider is at fault, checks DNS answers for tampering, logs confirmed provider outages with timestamps, and tracks devices joining the network. It also exposes decoy login, router and camera pages that raise an alert when something probes them.
