This is a maintenance release on the version 6 line of Vercel's AI SDK, and its three fixes all concern how tool calls are handled. The most consequential one, per the release notes, deals with tool approvals: if the final tool message contains repeated or conflicting approval responses for the same tool call, the SDK now processes only the first one, so such responses no longer execute a tool twice or both execute and deny it. The same fix, in identical wording, shipped in the version 7 release ai@7.0.149.

The other two fixes are smaller. When the SDK prunes tool calls from a conversation, it now also removes reasoning parts left orphaned by that pruning, including consecutive reasoning parts. And repaired tool names are now preserved in streamed UI message parts. The remaining entries are dependency updates, including @ai-sdk/gateway 3.0.220.
