Context

Codacy's Setup Coverage configures the reporting needed to show which lines a project's tests execute. It inspects the test setup and automated build pipeline, then connects coverage-report generation to an upload into Codacy. The product explanation distinguishes that configuration work from writing the tests themselves.

Reports must also arrive for the branch a proposed change will merge into. Without that baseline, Codacy cannot calculate whether overall coverage has fallen. The skill therefore configures uploads on every push rather than only on pull requests. A person still has to add the project's access credential to the pipeline's secrets. Codacy's setup account explains both requirements.
