TabMail is an open-source AI email client shipped as a Thunderbird add-on and an iPhone app, letting a user review and edit AI-drafted replies or ask questions about their inbox and calendar, navigable by keyboard on desktop and by voice on mobile. The client code is MPL 2.0 licensed; email and calendar content sent to the AI backend is processed with zero data retention, and search runs on-device.
Why it made the leaderboard
Offers an open-source alternative to closed AI email assistants with an unusual split design: keyboard-driven on desktop, voice-driven on mobile, and email/calendar content never stored server-side.
