StrictLLM is a desktop chat client for Mac, Windows and Linux that enforces tool permissions in code instead of in the prompt. Each persona's tools can be set to always allow, always ask or always deny, so every tool or MCP call can require approval first. It supports multiple models in one thread, persona mentions, local and cloud models, and sandboxing of local MCP servers in Podman containers. The developers state that no telemetry is collected.
