Factory Router cuts inference costs by 63%

Context

Factory reports that routed coding sessions cost 63% less in aggregate during the week ending September 13, 2026, than pricing the same workload at published frontier-model rates. That comparison defines the headline: it estimates savings against a pricing baseline. The production report separately reports 60% aggregate savings across September 5 to 18.

The router introduced earlier assigns suitable work to cheaper models and can move a session to a stronger model when needed. Administrators can describe which work is routine and which requires deeper reasoning. The figures are Factory's own and the report does not name which models or workloads the baseline assumes, so they may not apply to every organization's configuration.
