About
Hekla is a single-binary event-sourcing runtime built around its own total language, heklang, for declaring events, commands, projectors, and effects; the runtime generates the HTTP API, read models, audit log, and admin console directly from those declarations, so deploying is just a restart. Its type system enforces per-field data ownership, such as scoping personal fields to a specific subject so they can be encrypted and erased independently of other data in the same event.
Why it made the leaderboard
It compiles compliance-grade guarantees (per-field encryption, independently erasable subjects, no-build deploys) directly out of the event-sourcing language rather than bolting them onto application code.
