Scry is a search service built on a 500 TB NVMe-backed internet index stored in ClickHouse, letting users run close to arbitrary read-only SQL, plus some Datalog, directly over the index instead of going through a black-box ranked-list API like typical search providers. The pitch is that exposing the query layer gives callers, including AI agents, direct control over how a search budget is spent instead of absorbing the downside of a fixed-cost, opaque ranking algorithm; the service is free for non-commercial use when capacity allows, with congestion-based micro-auction pricing otherwise.
Why it made the leaderboard
