tuisheet is a terminal-based spreadsheet application written in Go, inspired by the interfaces of VisiCalc and Lotus 1-2-3, that reads and writes standard OpenXML (.xlsx) files. It compiles to a single low-resource executable and cross-compiles to multiple platforms and operating systems, though the author notes it is tested more thoroughly on Linux than on Windows, Solaris, AIX, or BSD.

Why it made the leaderboard

It lets developers and sysadmins view and edit real .xlsx files over SSH or in scripts as a single low-resource, cross-platform Go binary, rather than needing a full office suite.
