Context
Simon Willison's llm-openrouter 0.7 release note covers a plugin that connects the command-line tool to models hosted through OpenRouter. The release adds compatibility with LLM 0.32, which the note says makes the plugin work much better with reasoning models available through OpenRouter, and switches models to OpenRouter's implementation of the Responses API.
It also adds three optional server-side tools: Shell, WebFetch and WebSearch, enabled with options such as -T WebSearch. Because they are server-side, the tools run on the service's side of the request rather than on the user's own computer, which lets a hosted model do more during a request than return text.
