About
dumbtv is a set of scripts that run over ADB from another machine to remove ads, telemetry and bloat from a TV without root or changes to the system partition. It disables about 65 packages on Fire OS, applies privacy settings, installs an on-device DNS filter that blocks Amazon tracking and Alexa endpoints, and can replace the home screen with its own small launcher. It was tested end to end on a Fire TV Edition television, and Samsung, LG, Roku and similar TVs are not supported because they offer no shell access.
