Tencent's November 26, 2025 announcement opened its Hunyuan 3D engine to creators and companies worldwide in two forms. Creators get the Hunyuan 3D Global platform, which turns a text description, up to four images of an object from different angles, or a sketch into a 3D model, with 20 free generations a day. Businesses get 3D generation through an API on Tencent Cloud, so a game studio or online shop can call it from its own software, starting with 200 free credits. Finished models export in common 3D file formats such as OBJ and GLB, and Tencent says they work in Unity, Unreal Engine and Blender.

The launch adds a hosted product to a model family Tencent had already been open-sourcing. It says the open-source 3D models it began releasing in November 2024 have passed 3 million downloads on Hugging Face, and that more than 150 companies in mainland China, including Unity China and the 3D-printer maker Bambu Lab, already use the model through Tencent Cloud. The engine also cleans up the mesh, the grid of triangles or four-sided faces that forms a model's surface, which Tencent says makes assets efficient to render and fit professional standards. The headline benefit, cutting production "from days or weeks to just minutes," comes without a published test, and the announcement gives no price beyond the free allowances.
