About
The City is a native macOS app that visualizes running Claude Code sessions as a city of robot-staffed office buildings, where each project folder is a building, each team is a floor, and every animation corresponds to a real event from the Claude CLI's event stream. It launches its own Claude Code runs using the user's existing installation and plan, and does not display sessions started separately in a terminal.
Why it made the leaderboard
It turns raw Claude Code CLI event streams into a live visual map of what every project's agents are doing, useful for keeping tabs on multiple concurrent coding-agent runs at a glance.
