MakiRoll is a recording app for web and iOS that hides your own face while filming, replacing the mirror-like camera preview with an AI interviewer that asks adaptive follow-up questions based on speech-to-text of what you just said. After recording, it reviews the transcript to find the strongest moments, suggests a structure, and produces a captioned edit.
Why it made the leaderboard
Removes the self-conscious mirror effect that stops many people from recording video, replacing a face preview with adaptive STT-driven questions to make solo recording feel like a conversation.
