Quack-Mate

Quack-Mate is an experimental chess engine that generates moves and evaluates positions with SQL inside DuckDB, to test whether an analytical database can run game-tree search. It offers several search strategies and toggleable optimisations such as move ordering and pruning, plus profiling views of the queries. The browser version runs on DuckDB WASM in a restricted mode with limited depth, while a native backend is available by running it locally.
