About
Claude skill that emulates Elon Musk's cognitive operating system for first-principles reasoning.
What it does
It gives an AI agent a structured decision persona for interrogating costs, requirements, technical limits, and execution plans. Responses follow five mental models and eight heuristics, with a terse, confrontational voice. Concrete company, market, or technology questions trigger fact gathering before analysis.
Why it's ranked here
The tool has more substance than a voice prompt. It defines activation rules, research checkpoints, failure handling, explicit limitations, and worked conversations. Its strongest ideas suit engineering and manufacturing decisions. Forced first-person roleplay and aggressive defaults make it less dependable for broader organizational advice.
What's good
The five-step sequence is practical: question requirements, delete unnecessary work, simplify, accelerate, then automate. The skill also demands current facts before discussing concrete costs or technologies. It names unsuitable domains, warns about optimistic schedules, preserves contradictions in its source persona, and provides fallback behavior when evidence is missing.
Tradeoffs
The framework strongly favors deletion, vertical integration, speed, and confrontation. Those defaults can distort decisions involving institutions, negotiation, public relations, safety, or empathy. It requires web research for factual questions, so usefulness depends on tool access and source quality. The first-person impersonation may also obscure where sourced analysis ends and generated characterization begins.
How to use it well
Use it as a challenging second opinion for cost breakdowns, product complexity, manufacturing bottlenecks, outsourcing choices, and reversible experiments. Supply bills of materials, prices, constraints, and named requirements. Compare its answer with domain experts before acting. It does not replace safety review, legal guidance, stakeholder research, diplomacy, or humane people management.
Technical notes+
SKILL.md is a Markdown skill definition with YAML frontmatter, activation phrases, roleplay controls, a three-stage research protocol, checkpoints, fallback tables, mental models, heuristics, and output-style rules. README.md documents installation through the skills CLI or manual placement across compatible runtimes. references/research.md and the other three files under references/ provide the research basis. examples/demo-conversation.md contains four worked interactions. The supplied SKILL.md content is truncated, and the displayed repository tree contains no automated test directory.
