About
Maxxmod is a Chrome extension that customizes the YouTube browsing experience with over 60 features, including hiding Shorts, comments, and recommendations, setting default playback speed and quality, adding loop, screenshot, and Picture-in-Picture controls, and viewing subscriptions in a chronological list feed.
At a glance
Maxxmod changes how YouTube looks and behaves in Chrome. It is worth considering if you repeatedly hide the same distractions or reset playback settings on each video.
Good fit
Desktop Chrome users who want to hide Shorts or end cards, set default playback speed, or browse subscriptions with fewer distractions.
Consider something else when
Skip it if your browser blocks extensions that read and change YouTube pages or you mainly watch in the mobile app.
Start here
Pick one change you can verify, such as hiding Shorts. Toggle it, open the same YouTube surface again and check whether the rest of your layout still works for you.
Cost and requirements
The publisher lists Chrome and advertises a future Pro tier. Its policy says settings are stored in your local browser profile and that the extension uses access to YouTube pages plus storage and scripting permissions.
Limits to know
Changes depend on YouTube’s page structure. The feature list and privacy claims were reviewed from publisher documentation.

Why it made the leaderboard
Bundles 60+ granular YouTube tweaks, like Shorts blocking, layout control, and chronological subscriptions, into one extension so power users skip stitching together several separate add-ons.
